XTEND Original BCAA appears at NZ Supps in 30-serve and 90-serve tubs. The larger tub is for someone who already knows the drink suits them and expects to use it often. The smaller one is the lower-commitment way to test a flavour. The key comparison is the current cost per directed serving of the same formula, not the headline tub price.
The short answer
- Choose 30 serves if the flavour is new to you or you use a BCAA drink only occasionally.
- Consider 90 serves if you already like the flavour, will finish the tub and the live price per serve is better.
- NZ Supps lists six core flavours in both formats, including Blue Raspberry Ice, Mango Madness, Watermelon Explosion, Glacial Grape, Lemon Lime Squeeze and Strawberry Kiwi Splash.
- A larger BCAA tub does not make BCAAs more necessary. Adequate complete protein from food remains the main priority.
Compare the same flavour first
The easiest like-for-like check is Blue Raspberry Ice 30 serves against Blue Raspberry Ice 90 serves. NZ Supps lists both. Repeat the exercise for the flavour you actually want. The tub weights vary slightly by flavour, especially in the 90-serve range, so do not divide grams of powder and assume every flavour has the same scoop mass. The label's directed serving is the appropriate unit.
XTEND sells Original in both 30-serve and 90-serve formats, and NZ Supps has separate pages for each size. Check the exact flavour and serving label when comparing them.
Work out price per serve when you order
Take the current displayed price for a 30-serve tub and divide by thirty. Do the same for the 90-serve tub and divide by ninety. Compare those two figures for the same flavour and formula. Then ask whether you will finish the larger tub within its shelf life. A lower cost per serve is useful only for servings you will actually drink. We have not printed fixed prices because promotions and inventory move.
If you buy a BCAA drink for taste during training, think about how long a 90-serve flavour will stay appealing. If you alternate drinks often, a smaller tub may suit you even if its per-serve cost is higher. If you have used the same XTEND flavour for months, a larger tub can reduce repeat ordering.
What the product can and cannot replace
XTEND Original is an amino drink with BCAAs and electrolytes. The brand describes the Original line around 7g BCAAs per directed serving, but the current local label should settle the exact formula for the tub you buy. BCAAs are not a complete protein food. If your diet is short on protein, put meals or a complete protein powder ahead of a large amino tub. Our existing EAA versus BCAA guide addresses the science more fully.
NZ Supps also lists XTEND EAA tubs and Jolly Rancher branded Original flavours, but those were out of stock in the snapshot. Keep them separate from the six core flavours stocked in both sizes. Use the XTEND collection for current availability rather than assuming an unavailable EAA is an alternative you can check out today.
FAQ
Is the 90-serve XTEND formula stronger? A bigger tub is a format choice, not automatically a stronger formula. Check the label on the exact product and compare directed servings.
Which flavours come in both sizes at NZ Supps? The catalogue lists Blue Raspberry Ice, Mango Madness, Watermelon Explosion, Glacial Grape, Lemon Lime Squeeze and Strawberry Kiwi Splash in both formats.
Is 90 serves always better value? Calculate today's price per directed serving. A larger tub only saves money if you will use it and the current price comparison supports it.
Are BCAAs the same as protein powder? No. BCAAs are a subset of essential amino acids; a complete protein source supplies the full set needed for dietary protein intake.
Can I try a 30-serve tub first? Yes. It is the smaller commitment if you have not tried the flavour or drink style.
Were both sizes stocked? All six core 30-serve and 90-serve flavours listed here showed positive inventory at our 23 September 2026 stock check. Check today's stock on each product page.
