What Overload changes
Quest built the Overload line around inclusions. Where a standard Quest bar is mostly a smooth protein base, Overload loads the base with visible pieces so the texture breaks up as you chew. Chocolate Explosion runs a fudgy chocolate flavoured base with dark chocolatey chips, milk chocolatey chips and chunks, and chocolatey cookie pieces throughout.
The numbers
One 61g bar gives 210 calories, 20g protein, 22g total carbohydrate of which 11g is dietary fibre and 8g is sugar alcohol, and 1g total sugars with no added sugars. That works out to 3g net carbs on the US label convention. Sodium sits at 230mg and the bar supplies 140mg calcium and 210mg potassium.
What is in it
The protein blend is milk protein isolate and whey protein isolate. Polydextrose supplies most of the prebiotic fibre, erythritol and a small amount of sucralose and stevia handle sweetness, and almonds, cocoa processed with alkali and unsweetened chocolate carry the flavour. The bar contains milk, almonds and soy, and is made on equipment that also handles peanuts and other tree nuts.
