What XTEND Original is

XTEND Original is the amino acid drink the brand built its name on, and the formula has stayed recognisable for years. One level scoop of 13.9 g carries 7 g of branched chain amino acids split 2:1:1, which works out to 3,500 mg of L-leucine with 1,750 mg each of L-isoleucine and L-valine. Alongside that sit 2,500 mg of L-glutamine.

The electrolyte side

A of trisodium citrate dihydrate, potassium chloride and sodium chloride puts 220 mg of sodium and 170 mg of potassium into each serve. That is what turns a plain amino drink into something worth sipping through a long or sweaty session rather than swallowing in one go.

The flavour

Jolly Rancher Green Apple is the sharp, sweet green apple profile the lolly is known for, carried over into a drink you finish over a whole session. The powder dissolves in 300 to 500 ml of cold water, and you can push the water up if you want it lighter.
