Nexus now has two PER4M tubs on the shelf, and they are not the same product with a new label. The original PER4M is a hard-hitting pre you can dial up or down. PER4M 2.0 is a limited release built to go as hard as possible. Picking the wrong one either wastes money or ruins your night's sleep, so here is how to choose.

The short answer

  • Pick the original PER4M if you want a strong pre you can adjust day to day, or you are still building your caffeine tolerance.
  • Pick PER4M 2.0 if you already run high-stim pre-workouts and want the biggest hit Nexus makes.
  • Serve size is the big difference: a single 8g scoop option on the original, a 32g full serve on 2.0.
  • Not sure? Start with the original. You can always move up later.

PER4M original: the flexible one

PER4M is the flagship pre-workout from Nexus NZ. It pairs a heavy stimulant kick with proven pump and endurance ingredients, so you get energy, focus and pumps from the first set.

What sets it apart is flexible dosing. You can run a single 8g scoop on a lighter day, then push to the full serve when you want everything. That makes it a pre you can live with week after week, rather than one you save for special occasions.

PER4M Watermelon and PER4M Sour Apple are two easy starting points. For the full lineup, see PER4M flavours ranked.

PER4M 2.0: the all-out one

PER4M 2.0 is the supercharged, limited-release big brother. Nexus rebuilt it as an all-out high-stimulant pre, doubling the serving size to 32g and loading it with maximum-effort doses for energy, pumps and strength.

It is built around a heavy citrulline and beta-alanine pump dose plus caffeine, and Nexus positions the range as Australia's strongest pre-workout. Cola Crush and Juicy Burst come as 800g tubs listed at 50 scoops, with Juicy Burst labelled a #7000 Limited Edition.

This is a serious formula. If you are used to feeling a pre-workout kick in, expect 2.0 to hit noticeably harder than the original.

Detail PER4M PER4M 2.0
Release Core range Limited release
Serve Single 8g scoop or full serve 32g full serve
Stim level High, adjustable All-out high-stim
Best for Most regular pre users Experienced, high-tolerance lifters

Nexus does not list a caffeine figure on our product pages, so check the label on your tub. Either way, both sit at the strong end. Our max-stim pre-workouts collection is where 2.0 lives alongside other top-end formulas.

Who should not jump straight to 2.0

Be honest with yourself here. PER4M 2.0 is not the right first pick if any of these fit:

  • You are new to pre-workout. Start with the original on a single 8g scoop.
  • You train in the evening. A dose this big will likely follow you to bed.
  • You already drink a lot of coffee or energy drinks. Your total caffeine adds up fast.
  • The original already feels strong. There is no prize for going harder than you need.

If you do try 2.0, start with a partial serve and see how you handle it before taking the full 32g. And if you want the PER4M taste with less fuss, PER4M in a bottle is another way in. Want strong pumps with no stimulants at all? Nexus also makes AMP3D 2.0.

PER4M 2.0 flavours we stock

Because 2.0 is a limited release, flavours can sell through and not come back. If you find one you like, it is worth grabbing a second tub.

Where NZ Supps fits

We stock both PER4M lines across our Nexus pre-workouts range and ship fast across New Zealand. FAQ

What is the difference between PER4M and PER4M 2.0? PER4M is the flagship Nexus pre with flexible dosing, so you can run a single 8g scoop or push to a full serve. PER4M 2.0 is a limited-release, all-out high-stim version with the serving size doubled to 32g. Think of 2.0 as the heavier hitter for people who already handle strong pre-workouts.

Is PER4M 2.0 stronger than PER4M? Yes. Nexus built 2.0 as an all-out high-stimulant formula with maximum-effort doses for energy, pumps and strength. If the original PER4M already feels strong to you, 2.0 is not the next step you need.

How much caffeine is in PER4M 2.0? Check the label on your tub for the exact figure. What we can say is that it sits at the very top end for stimulants, which is why we recommend starting with a partial serve the first time.

Is PER4M 2.0 good for beginners? No. It is built for experienced lifters with a high caffeine tolerance. Beginners are better off starting on the original PER4M with a single 8g scoop, or on a lower-stim pre.

Which PER4M 2.0 flavours do you stock? We currently stock Cola Crush, Juicy Burst, Sour Blue Razz and Sour Apple. As a limited release, flavours can come and go, so grab your favourite while it is in stock.
