A pre-workout you chew instead of mix

Nitraflex Chews is the tablet version of GAT Sport's pre-workout line. A serve is four chewable tablets in blue raspberry flavour, taken with 250 to 300 ml of water roughly 30 minutes before you train. Handy when you are training away from home, heading straight from work, or you simply cannot be bothered washing another shaker.

What is in a serve

L-Citrulline 4 g, the amino acid used as a nitric oxide precursor
Beta-Alanine 3.2 g, at the dose commonly used in research on carnosine loading
Betaine Anhydrous 2.5 g, a trimethylglycine typically dosed at 2.5 g
Caffeine Anhydrous 200 mg paired with L-Theanine 100 mg
Huperzine A 100 mcg
Vitamin C, magnesium, sodium, potassium and chloride from the electrolyte side of the panel

How it fits a training week

At 200 mg of caffeine a serve this sits at the firmer end of the stimulant range, so keep track of the coffee and energy drinks you have already had that day and leave a decent gap before bed. The label caps you at four chews in any 24 hour period and suggests a week off after eight weeks of use. Sugar comes in under 1 g per serve and the tub is 120 chews, so a single serve a session gives you a month of training.

Nutrition per serving. Per serving (4 chewable tablets): 1 g sugar, 10 calories. Key ingredients: L-Citrulline, Beta-Alanine, Betaine Anhydrous, Caffeine Anhydrous, L-Theanine, Huperzine A. Flavour: Blue Raspberry.

Chew one serve of 4 tablets thoroughly and wash them down with 250 to 300 ml of water about 30 minutes before training. Stay hydrated while you train. Do not exceed 4 chews in any 24 hour period. The label states 18 years and over, and suggests taking a week off after 8 weeks of continuous use. If you are new to the product, start with 2 chews to gauge how you handle it.

Lifters who want their pre-workout without a shaker, gym bags that travel, and anyone who trains straight after work. Suits people already comfortable with 200 mg of caffeine in one hit. If you train late at night or you are sensitive to stimulants, a lower caffeine or stim-free option will suit you better.

How many chews is one serve?

Four chewable tablets. The tub holds 120 chews, which works out to 30 serves.

Do I need to take them with water?

Yes. Chew them fully and wash them down with roughly 250 to 300 ml of water, then keep drinking through the session.

How much caffeine is in a serve?

200 mg of caffeine anhydrous, alongside 100 mg of L-theanine. Count that toward your daily caffeine total if you also drink coffee or energy drinks.

Will I get the beta-alanine tingle?

There is 3.2 g of beta-alanine per serve, and a temporary skin tingle is a common and harmless response to that ingredient. It settles as your body gets used to it.

Can I take a half serve?

Two chews gives you half of every dose on the panel. That is a sensible starting point if you are stimulant sensitive or training in the evening.

How is this different from the Nitraflex powder?

The chews are a tablet format you chew rather than mix. The ingredient panels are not identical, so read the supplement facts for whichever one you are buying.
