Nitraflex Chews is the tablet version of GAT Sport's pre-workout line. A serve is four chewable tablets in blue raspberry flavour, taken with 250 to 300 ml of water roughly 30 minutes before you train. Handy when you are training away from home, heading straight from work, or you simply cannot be bothered washing another shaker.

What is in a serve

• L-Citrulline 4 g, the amino acid used as a nitric oxide precursor
• Beta-Alanine 3.2 g, at the dose commonly used in research on carnosine loading
• Betaine Anhydrous 2.5 g, a trimethylglycine typically dosed at 2.5 g
• Caffeine Anhydrous 200 mg paired with L-Theanine 100 mg
• Huperzine A 100 mcg
• Vitamin C, magnesium, sodium, potassium and chloride from the electrolyte side of the panel

How it fits a training week

At 200 mg of caffeine a serve this sits at the firmer end of the stimulant range, so keep track of the coffee and energy drinks you have already had that day and leave a decent gap before bed. The label caps you at four chews in any 24 hour period and suggests a week off after eight weeks of use. Sugar comes in under 1 g per serve and the tub is 120 chews, so a single serve a session gives you a month of training.
