Most people who buy OxyShred ask the same thing once the tub arrives: how do I actually take this? The honest answer is simple. One scoop, in the morning or about 30 minutes before training, while you eat in a small calorie deficit. The rest is detail, and the detail is mostly about caffeine.

The short answer

  • Dose: one scoop a day. That is 150mg of caffeine. Do not double up.
  • Timing: about 30 minutes before training, or first thing on rest days.
  • Cut-off: keep your last scoop well before bed, ideally by early afternoon.
  • Stacking: skip caffeinated pre-workouts and energy drinks on the same day. Go stim-free if you want a pump.
  • The real driver: a calorie deficit. OxyShred supports the effort, it does not replace it.

How much to take

Start with one scoop of OxyShred Cosmic Blast or whichever flavour you picked. Each scoop has 150mg of caffeine, plus acetyl L-carnitine, green coffee bean and vitamin C. For most people that is a clear, noticeable lift.

It is tempting to add a second scoop when the first one feels mild. Resist it. A second scoop takes you to 300mg from OxyShred alone, and most of us also drink coffee, tea or the odd energy drink.

For context, the European Food Safety Authority considers up to about 400mg of caffeine a day safe for healthy adults, with around 3mg per kilo of body weight as a single dose. A 70kg person sits at about 210mg for one hit. One scoop of OxyShred fits comfortably inside that. Two scoops plus a flat white does not. If you want the exact numbers, our post on how much caffeine is in OxyShred breaks it down.

When to take it: training days vs rest days

Training days. Take your scoop about 30 minutes before you start. That is when you want the energy, and it means you are not reaching for a separate pre-workout.

Rest days. Take it in the morning, with breakfast or soon after. It drinks light, so it sits fine alongside food, and it gives you a steady start to the day.

One rule matters on both: the later you take caffeine, the more it can get in the way of sleep. Poor sleep makes hunger harder to manage, which is the opposite of what you want in a cut. If you train after work, have your scoop at lunch rather than at 5pm. Our guide to caffeine and sleep explains why timing matters so much.

Stacking: what to pair it with, and what to avoid

The most common mistake we see is stacking OxyShred with a caffeinated pre-workout. The numbers add up quickly. A 300mg pre plus one scoop of OxyShred puts you at 450mg before you have had a coffee, which is past the daily guideline.

If you want a pump without more caffeine, pair it with one of the stim-free pre-workouts instead. Ghost Pump V2 Natty is a good match. It has no caffeine at all, so your stim total stays at 150mg.

If you would rather skip stimulants on some days, a stim-free liquid carnitine like Ronnie Coleman L-Carn XS 3000 gives you something to run on those days without adding caffeine. You can browse more L-carnitine options if you prefer capsules or powder.

A sample day

Time Training day Rest day
Morning Coffee if you want one, water One scoop of OxyShred with breakfast
Midday One scoop, 30 min before a lunch session Water, normal meals
Afternoon Stim-free pump pre if training later No more caffeine
Evening Dinner, no caffeine Dinner, no caffeine

If you train in the evening, move your OxyShred to lunchtime and use a stim-free pre before the session. Treat this table as a template. The only fixed points are one scoop, and nothing caffeinated late in the day.

Mistakes people make

Late-afternoon scoops. It feels like a good idea before an evening session. Then you lie awake until midnight. Keep your caffeine early.

No calorie deficit. Fat loss comes from eating a bit less energy than you burn. Thermogenics like OxyShred can support energy and make the plan easier to stick to, but they cannot create the deficit. If the scale is not moving, look at your food before your scoop.

Skipping water. Caffeine and training both push up how much fluid you need. Mix OxyShred in a decent glass of cold water and keep drinking through the day.

Judging it after three days. Give it a few weeks of consistent training and eating before you decide if it suits you. Watch your energy, focus and sleep. If sleep takes a hit, move your scoop earlier or use it on training days only.

FAQ

How many scoops of OxyShred should I take? Start with one scoop a day. That is 150mg of caffeine, which is plenty for most people. Doubling up mostly adds caffeine, not results, and makes it easy to go over a sensible daily total once coffee is counted.

Should I take OxyShred before or after a workout? Before is the better fit, because the caffeine is what gives you the lift. On training days, take it roughly 30 minutes before you start. On rest days, take it in the morning instead.

Can you take OxyShred with pre-workout? We would not stack it with a caffeinated pre-workout or an energy drink, because the caffeine adds up fast. If you want a pump on top, pair OxyShred with a stim-free pre-workout so the caffeine total stays at 150mg.

Can I take OxyShred on rest days? Yes, lots of people take it every day, and one tub gives you 60 servings. On rest days, have your scoop in the morning so the caffeine is long gone by bedtime.

Will OxyShred work if I am not in a calorie deficit? Not in any way that counts. Fat loss comes from eating a little less energy than you burn. OxyShred can support your energy and help you stick to the plan, but it cannot do the deficit for you.
