Fat Burners

That depends on whether you want caffeine. EHPlabs OxyShred is a flavoured drink with 150 mg of caffeine and 175 mg of vitamin C a scoop. Nexus Easy Burn pairs 150 mg of caffeine with 2,000 mg of acetyl L-carnitine. In capsules, CBUM Essential Fat Burner has about 200 mg of caffeine from caffeine anhydrous and guarana, with 250 mg of green tea extract. If you train late, start with the caffeine-free options instead. Our best fat burner NZ guide puts them side by side.

Not on their own. You lose body fat by eating fewer calories than you use, and no powder or capsule changes that. Most of these products are built around caffeine, a stimulant, and some add L-carnitine, green tea extract, cayenne or CLA. Plenty of people take a caffeine formula before training instead of a coffee. Keep food and training as the plan, and judge each product on its label and price. Read does L-carnitine work for what the research shows.

Yes. GAT Essentials Liquid L-Carnitine 3000 and GAT Sport Essentials L-Carnitine list 3,000 mg of carnitine in a 15 ml serve, and Ronnie Coleman L-Carn-XS comes in 3,000 mg and 4,000 mg versions. GAT Sport Essentials CLA 1250 and Ronnie Coleman CLA are caffeine-free softgels. They suit evening training, or anyone who already gets caffeine from coffee or a pre-workout. Our L-carnitine collection has the full list.

It varies, so read each label. In our range, EHPlabs OxyShred and Nexus Easy Burn list 150 mg a serve, Hercules Burn of the Gods 170 mg, GAT Sport Essentials Caffeine 200 mg a tablet, CBUM Essential Fat Burner about 200 mg and Gaspari DTN8 275 mg. Many pre-workouts list 200 to 300 mg, so a fat burner and a pre-workout on the same day add up fast. Count coffee and energy drinks too, and stay within the serves a day on each label. Read how much caffeine is in OxyShred.

Caffeine-based fat burners are not for anyone under 18, pregnant or breastfeeding, sensitive to caffeine, or living with a heart condition or high blood pressure. If you take medication, ask your doctor or pharmacist first. Try half a serve the first time to see how you handle it, and skip caffeine formulas in the six hours before bed. The carnitine and CLA products contain no caffeine, but the same check with your doctor applies if you have a medical condition.
